Software
Information systems are used by about 1600 municipalities in the Czech Republic. Triada, Ltd. puts emphasis on customization of the information systems for needs of users, training seminars, consultations and securing “trust and security” issue. Triada, Ltd. has developed new products by usage of most recent development instruments. It includes a CASE system SELECT SE for creating and maintaining a data model. When developing applications Triada, Ltd. relies on a tool by Borland/Inprise. Triada, Ltd. develops software for following architectures: client-server, LAN, Internet, Intranet and Extranet. Triada, Ltd. is a partner of these companies: Oracle (a member of the Oracle alliance), Novell (Novell Business Partner), Borland (VAR partner) and Microsoft (VAP and Select).
Since 1993 Triada, Ltd. has offered an integrated information system Triada for MS DOS. First version of this system was created in environment PC Fand and run under MS DOS operation system. This system, especially by its conception and used technologies, is intended for small municipalities up to 3000 inhabitants. Currently, the system still works in accordance with all necessary legislation and needs of users. Over the period the system has been in power we have gained a lot of experiences with development and maintenance of PC Fand application.
In 1996 completely new information system named “Triada for Windows” based on Windows 9x environment was deployed on the market. Delphi 1 by Borland was chosen as a basic development environment. Brand new versions of particular modules are developed in Delphi 5 environment. From the first moment, the new system was intended for the wider range of prospective users, e.g. municipalities, small towns and cities). This was enabled by rebuilding of the development conception as well as by usage of advanced technologies.
Since 1999 the system is available under the brand Munis on the market. Today the majority of our customers are on this system. The system has been continuously developed, new modules developed and current ones optimized according to requests of users. At the same time, new technologies have been implemented in all modules.
Information system Munis is divided into two basic parts:
- register and administrative agendas
- economic agendas
Register and administrative agendas contain almost 20 agendas, e.g. register of inhabitants, list of voter, administration of addresses, land register, administration of houses and apartments, electronic registry and others. Economic agendas deal for instance with following: accountancy, budget creation, cash desk, bank services, fees or municipal taxes.
As we have seen above Munis is designed as a modular and open system, which consists of mutual co-operated and linked agendas. Robust data core containing basic registers (addresses, inhabitants and real estates) is considered as a crucial point of the system. Structure and functioning of the data core are based on proven technologies and platforms with a long-life expectancy: data structures Paradox in a file version and SQL servers in client-server architecture. Particular applications using registers are built over the data core.
Since Munis is a modular system comprising co-operated and linked agendas, users may choose particular modules defined by range of agendas they process. Modularity of the system simplifies system initial deployment to new users, because it enables a prompt launch of important agendas, which is followed by phased deployment of additional modules. Thanks to this process, overworking of responsible persons during implementation of a huge system can be avoided.
All of the information systems developed by Triada, Ltd. are updated at least twice a year, in accordance with ongoing legislative changes, needs of users and implementation of new technologies. Principle of an open system makes possible link applications of third parties to the system.
